Description

1963 Morris Minor 1000 Saloon – Rose Taupe

In September 1962, the final chapter of the Morris Minor began. Following rationalisation within BMC, the 948cc engine was replaced by the 1098cc A-series engine, which was used on the Austin A40 and the Austin Healey Sprite. A new style of air filter was also fitted to replace the old AC oil-bath air filter. Further improvements were then made in the following October when the windscreen washer system was redesigned and the old assymetric wipers were lengthened and repositioned to work in tandem/parallel. New combined indicator and side lights using both amber and clear lenses were fitted to the front wings, whilst at the rear, a new light cluster incorporating the amber indicator, red reflector and brake light was added. On the speedometer, the indicator warning light was discontinued and a green intermittent light was added to the end indicator control stalk.
Our model reflects all of these changes and is presented as a late 1963 model in Rose Taupe (GR27) with a red coachline and a Tartan Red/Silver Beige interior
